G Baritone Tenor
The "Big Pan" Concept: The Low G Baritone Tenor is recognized as one of the most adaptable voices within the steel orchestra. Double Tenor

The Double Tenor, initially crafted by Bertie Marshall, features a unique tonal character that distinguishes it from other instruments. In contrast to the Double Seconds, this instrument is tuned to generate a more vibrant sound and is essential to the steel orchestra's composition. Its melodic phrases are frequently supported by a deeper register. With its powerful and piercing tone, the Double Tenor effectively enhances the higher register's harmonies and counter melody within the steel orchestra.

The Double Seconds are an exceptionally adaptable instrument in the steel orchestra, making it suitable for both solo and group performances. Originating from Ellie Mannette's whole-tone design, it is particularly cherished by professionals for its rich and deep tonal characteristics. This instrument has a range spanning from E3 to C#6.
